The Adidas_1 is a running shoe made by Adidas, introduced in early 2005. It was the second common consumer shoe to combine computers (Adidas Micropacer in 1984 was the first). The shoes are experiencing reliability issues with many being sent back for repair, which began the introduction of improved generation soon after the launch of the original shoe, called Intelligence Level 1.1. The shoe is then discontinued, and the official website http://www.adidas-1.com now directs users to the Adidas web page. The shoes were then followed by Adidas_1 Basketball Shoe.

Technology
It takes three years of development before it's released, the shoes adjust after each step, using the motor in the middle. The rotating motor screw, which in turn extends or shortens the cable, alters the compression characteristics of the heel pad.
The shoes are usually worth $ 700 in the US.
Changes are guided by the sensor on the heel, which determines how many heels are compressed at each step.
These shoes are battery powered, and last for about 100 hours of running.
