The Honda Elysion (Japanese: ja: ??????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????? in Japan as a competitor of Toyota Alphard and Nissan Elgrand. This is related to Honda Odyssey specification of United States but not the same vehicle One of the main difference from previous generation JDM Honda Odyssey is that back door is exchanged with sliding door which usually used on minivans, while the JDM Odyssey uses conventional doors. The Honda Odyssey, known in Japan as the Honda LaGreat, is too big for Japan, so Elysion takes a lot of style cues from LaGreat and uses it on smaller vehicles.
In June 2012, Elysion was introduced to the Chinese market. Elysion production was discontinued in October 2013 in Japan, but continues to be assembled and sold in China.
Honda was inspired to name the vehicle "Elysion" from the classic Greek word Elysium, or heaven.

Overview
The Elysion appeared at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2003 as "ASM", and was released for sale on May 13, 2004. A light body restyle was introduced September 29, 2005, introducing the "Aero" and "VG Premium" trim levels. January 13, 2006 saw the introduction of the "G Aero HDD Navi" and "VG HDD Navi Aero" editions. Other styling changes introduced December 21, 2006, including interior updates.
Elysion is offered both with 2.4 L DOHC direct injection K24A with i-VTEC producing 160 PS (117.7 kW; 157.8 bhp) or 3.0 L SOHC J30A V6 i-VTEC producing 250 PS (183.9 kW; 246.6 bhp). ). V6 is also available with "VCM" or Variable Cylinder Management. The top "Prestige" trim models are available with the J35A V6 used in the Honda Legend, producing 300 PS (220.6 kW; 295.9 bhp) and available with AWD. However, vehicles equipped with AWD have reduced engine power to 279 PS (205.2 kW; 275.2 bhp). For two-wheel drive vehicles, this is more powerful than that available at Toyota Estima, which is cited to 280 PS (205.9 kW; 276.2 bhp).
The concept
The MPV was first seen as a concept car called Honda ASM at the Tokyo Motor Show in late 2003 and finally made into production half a year later with some cosmetic adjustments for headlamps, front grille and interior to make it more commercially friendly. Officially unveiled in mid-2004 for Japan's domestic market, the Honda Elysion, which takes its name from Greek mythology, is loosely translated as "a pleasant place," marks an important history for Honda to showcase their best technical knowledge and all round security, ecology and human comfort.
Design
Outside the predicted normal line, a carefully carved, oval-shaped body of the oval to minimize the hard edges resulting from low wind noise and low drag coefficient, perhaps the lowest among all rivals and perhaps, in fact, embarrassing some smaller sedans. Low CDs also contribute to better fuel savings and overall stability.
The interior encloses all with a good thought after the luxurious materials combined with soft and soft soundproof material makes the cabin very quiet when you close the door. However, all these extra luxuries contribute to total weight, which is about 1800 kg away from the minimum amount found in Honda's mainstream model.
Although the car looks great, the actual dimensions are actually simple. At 4840 mm, the length is identical as the second generation Odyssey RA6 3.0L or about 1 cm longer than the current Camry. The width of 1830mm is about 3 cm wider than RA6 or about 2 cm wider than the Camry. The difference is in smart space management, making 70% of the total space available as a cabin plus a height of 1790mm, which is an additional 18 cm from RA6 or about 24 cm higher than the current wanderings. This extra height puts Elysion's high seating position, or about the level of the Harrier SUV and plus a very pleasant interior space that can accommodate 8 adults in total comfort.
Security
The combination of new high-strength stiffness is 30% stronger, Honda G-Con technology and unique double platform with low central gravity floor, first seen in the Merc A-class, make Elysion (one box car) to reach the highest 6 star rating by Nasva and became one of Japan's most secure passenger car production ever, even higher than its competitors' three-box, rush-hooded sedan.
A high percentage of security translates to how well the car protects the driver and passengers. Extensive accident reports are available on this site http://www.nasva.go.jp/mamoru/englis...0_elysion.html and comparison with various models and brands on this site http://www.nasva.go. jp/mamoru/english/2005/as105.html
High stiffness bodies are also useful for overall comfort as the car handles rugged roads with serenity, free of the creaks found in many older Honda's
The top-of-the-line VZ model is equipped with IHCC (intelligent cruise cruise control) and CMS (collision mitigation sensor) that works with radio wave radar mounted on the front grille to alert the driver if he is too close to the car in front and the seat belt automatic tightening and ready brakes, similar to pre-cash system in S-class. Interestingly radar can be doubled as night vision (a concept similar to the infrared night vision introduced in BMW) because it provides an image in the form of an object graph in front of which is displayed on an 8-inch navigation system mounted on the dashboard.
Other safety equipment include ABS (anti-lock brakes), VSA (vehicle stability), TCS, sidelip, and AFS (adaptive front lighting) on ââthe HID Xenon headlight projector.
Engine and brake
At launch, two engine options are available. The 2.4L i-VTEC K24A used in the Odyssey currently produces about 160 horses and 22.2 kg-m of torque. With almost the same specifications and gear ratios, it behaves and drives very similar to the current Odyssey and fires about 10.2 km/l in 10-15 Japanese standard tests (3 times the variable driving city stops and goes and 1 times driving the highway with 120 kg extra weight two passengers and no a/c).
The compression ratio of 9.7 pairs with anti-tapping sensors and intelligent time control makes it easy to take the RON 95 class. A 2.4L engine is the same but with different overhead and higher compression ratio than 11.0 which produces the 200hhp used at Honda JDM Absolute Odyssey is not currently available for Elysion.
The others are all-new 3.0L V6 i-VTEC J30A with VCM (variable cylinder management), 3-cylinder shutting-offs at one bank V6 when reduced power is required such as during roaming or driving downhill. The only tell-tale sign that the engine is running on 3 cylinders is when the ECO green light on the panel is lit.
Unlike a small powered low power hybrid, it has 250 horses and 31.5 kg-m of torque under the hood ready whenever it is needed. The power curve provides in linear progression without an empty spot torque like in it a 2.4L engine. The i-VTEC engine advances this vibrantly on every rpm with additional turbo-style spikes coming over 4,000 rpm when setting second-in cams with intoxicating power along the path to the redline.
The power ratio of approximately 138 hp per ton is enough to drive this car from 0-100 km/h in under 8 seconds, putting it in the rankings with a serious sports-oriented car. This superb engine fits perfectly with large suspension and high tension-stiff steel body that makes this Ely 3L is not your boring ancestor in front of the house.
With a compression ratio of 11.0, it requires RON 98 premium fuel (or RON 100 if available) to maximize its potential. A typical RON 95 will set the engine 10% stronger but without persistent beats as it has a smart time and anti tapping control. It pushes and displaces extra fine teeth and inhals fuel at a rate of 9.8 km/l or approximately normal engine consumption of 2.0 to 2.4L. In driving the highway can even reach as high as 15-16 km/l by placing a smaller 1.5-2L family sedan as its fuel rival. In short this machine is a real gem.
All Elysion is equipped with ventilated 4-disc brakes with ABS and EBD.
Trim and specifications
There are 6 trims and different grades plus 2 special editions of AERO HDD. Three classes of 2.4L front-wheel drive models are available, namely M, G, and X. There are also three front wheel models 3.0L, VG, VX, and VZ. Four-wheel-drive optional on all models.
All six trim levels are equipped with a long list of standard equipment such as Xenon HID projector lamps, dual airbags, anti-lock brakes, 16-inch aluminum wheels, 215/65 R 16 Yokohama Aspec, luxurious and comfortable third row seats with easy 60/40 configuration folding, 5-speed automatic transmission, UV-cut glass all round and dark privacy glass that confirms the LTA specification makes it unnecessary to install after-market movies. Eight individually adjusted interior lights turn on whenever the door is opened, and fades slowly into the background when the door closes.
This car comes standard with keyless entry and ignition. A remote keyless security alarm with standard equipment while a smart card without touch is an option.
An automatic door sensing locks one of the unlocked doors as the car moves above 15 km/h and automatically unlocks when the transmission lever switches to P (park). Both front and rear wipers are speed sensors, and clean automatically when the car is moving at speed.
The world's first three-dimensional luminescence meter welcomes you by illuminating the outline when you open the door and get brighter when it detects a programmable RFID key. This meter has a very interesting one-of-the-kind combination of luminescence optitron-like-meters and 3D holographic blue illumination that gives the illusion that such meters are suspended in the air between a bluish background and LCD-display (temperature, travel, bar fuel consumption, doors, etc.) in front, a real feat for the eyes. The secret of the 3D effect lies in the blue light projector mounted in the top panel, invisible unless you bend and look at it from below.
All the necessary keys are strategically placed, classy, ââclean and ergonomic, all within easy reach and view to ensure that the driver does not need to take his eyes off the road. The most ergonomic in which the driver can only put his elbows on the armrest while the hands fiddle with the a/v-commander button and the transmission lever.
High quality piano-lacquer wood panels are well integrated into the dash and to the door emit luxury as they are present across large panels instead of the thin strips found in many others.
The four windows are equipped with one touch-power window with automatic sensing security features. The dual zone climate controls and three allow passengers and drivers to adjust the climate separately between left and right. An intelligent solar-sensing A/C adjusts cabin temperature according to outside temperature.
In addition all 3.0L VG, VX and VZ trim models are equipped with cruise cruise control cruise, large double exhaust pipe, V6 logo, VCM (variable cylinder management engine), active engine mount for vibration reduction, active noise control, twin dampers and control throttle DBW (drive-by-wire). This DBW system when used with cruise control can help save fuel because the ECU will calculate the velocity of fuel vs. the most efficient in opposing to driving on its own.
