History

The Power Wheels brand name originated in 1984, when the San Francisco-based toy company, Kransco bought Pines of America, a battery-powered battery maker for children. Two years later, Kransco renamed the line "Power Wheels". In 1990 sales of battery-powered vehicles reached more than 1,000,000 per year.

In 1994, Power Wheels was bought by Mattel. After Mattel's acquisition of Kransco, the Power Wheels line soon became part of Fisher-Price toys from East Aurora, New York. With the addition of new vehicle licenses, new Power Wheels by Fisher-Price and Mattel lines run well.

In 1999, Fisher-Price announced Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Ride-On - which contributed to a year's record sales for all product lines.

Security Withdrawal

Electric Wheel Vehicles have been the subject of Safety Recall.

The first recall in 1991 involved a Porsche 911 Volt 9, where contacts on the foot pedal switches could be welded together in use. If this happens, the motor will keep running and the vehicle will continue to move forward, unable to stop. New accelerator pedals are installed which eliminates the possibility of welded contacts.

In 1998, Fisher-Price made a monumental withdrawal of up to 10 million 12-volt Wheel Wheel and Super 6 volt wheels produced since 1986. The withdrawal and repair program was made to replace the battery fuse and strengthen the battery connector to prevent the unit from overheating. The main difference of Power Wheel post recalls is that the original "H" (or original Power Wheels, "S") connectors are removed and replaced with larger black "A" connectors. If a Power Wheels rider is built on or before 1998 and has a Black "A" connector, then a recall job may have been performed.

The third withdrawal in 2000 involves the Harley-Davidson motor cycle, in collaboration with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Fisher-Price attracted approximately 218,000 Harley-Davidson battery motorcycles for Movement Wheel for repairs. The foot pedal, which activates the mover, can be attached to a "live" position. Children can get hurt when a motorcyclist fails to stop and attack another object. The retractable Harley-Davidson Power Bicycle Wheel has model number 74290, 74293 (with red body) and 74298 (with black body). The "Power Wheels by Fisher-Price" logo is located on the left side of the seat on the product, and the model number is located on the label in the battery compartment. Only model numbers 74290, 74293 and 74298 are withdrawn. This vehicle is intended for children 3 and older, and the vehicle speed is 2.5 or 5 mph. Toy, mass merchandise and discount stores, and Harley-Davidson dealers sell nationwide motorcycles from September 1999 to August 2000 for around $ 190 for red vehicles and $ 700 for black vehicles.
