Samsung Galaxy S series is a suite of advanced Android-powered mobile devices manufactured by Samsung Electronics, Samsung's South Korean division.
The series was originally composed of smartphones and the first device, the Samsung Galaxy S, was announced in March 2010 and released for sale in June of that year. Since the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Note phablet smartphone in 2011, the Galaxy S line has existed along with the Galaxy Note line as Samsung's flagship smartphone.
Samsung then expanded its Galaxy S line to tablet computers with the announcement of the first generation Galaxy Tab S in June 2014 and released next month. In 2018, the latest smartphone in the Galaxy S series is Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9, both released on March 16, 2018, and the latest tablet is Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 released in March 2017.
