Automatic quartz is a collective term that describes a watch movement that incorporates automatic winding rotor mechanisms (such as those used in automated mechanical watches) to generate electricity with piezoelectric quartz crystals as a timing element element. ETA
The Swiss company ETA SA, part of the Swatch group, made seven different quartz auto movements, calling them Autoquartz . They are part of a series of premium Flatline movements and sold to various watch vendors, especially Europe and America. High class movements designed to survive during their premium mechanical movement, they have between 15 and 53 gems. Unlike most quartz watches, Autoquartz can be calibrated to improve its accuracy. Some vendors have their Autoquartz watch certified COSC. In 2006 to increase the production of his highly demanded mechanical movement, Swatch stopped supplying Autoquartz lines to customers (service and spare parts are still available). At the end of 2006, the company began selling their moves with incorporated alarms, other exclusive features. All hardware is Ventura's.
In 2007 the company went bankrupt. Support is available from independent entities.
