Waldorf Astoria Hotel & amp; Residences Philadelphia is a proposed skyscraper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It will be built on the former One Meridian Plaza, half of which is now occupied by The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton. The project consists of a 670 foot (200 m)/58-storey tower located at 1441 Chestnut Street and will be completed by Waldorf Astoria Philadelphia in 2012. The hotel will belong to the flourishing Waldorf-Astoria Collection, a luxury hotel chain and resort , owned by Hilton Hotels Corporation but the project was canceled and sold in 2010.
Instead, the new Starwood W Hotel and Element by the Westin hotel have been approved, and construction is planned from autumn 2013.
