Fourth generation (1961-1964) >The Cadillac was restyled and reengineered for 1961. The conversion of Eldorado Biarritz was technically reclassified as a subseries of De Ville ( Series 6300 ), the status to be maintained until 1964. The Eldorado converter will remain in the Cadillac line until 1966, but the difference from the rest of the line is generally simpler. The new grille slopes backward toward the bumper and hood lips, along the horizontal plane, and sits between the double headlights. New front sloping front column with non-wraparound windscreen visible. Eldorado Biarritz features a front-of-the-line script and a lower "skeg" body trimmed with a thin three-quarter-long spear molding that runs from behind the front wheel aperture to the rear of the car. Standard equipment includes electric brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, dual back-up lights, windshield wipers, dual speed wipers, wheel discs, plain fender skirts, outdoor rearview mirrors, makeup mirrors, oil filters, power windows, 6- directions or bucket seats, electric ventilation windows, whitewall tires, and remote control rod locks. The front and rear rubber coil spring replaces the air suspension system that is prone to problems. The four-barrel induction system is now the only power option and the dual exhaust is no longer available. With sales of Seville and Brougham falling to 1,450.
A lightweight facelift characterized Cadillac styling trends for 1962. A flat grille with a thicker horizontal center bar and a finer cross-hatching insert appeared. The chrome-accented panel trim, seen in front of the front-wheel drive in 1961, is now replaced with cornering lights and front fender models and series identification badges omitted. Many of the larger front bumper fronts appear and placed rectangular parking lights. At the rear lights are now placed in vertical nacelles designed with a sloping top in the middle. A vertically ribbed rear beauty panel appears on the deck cover latch panel. Cadillac scripts also appear on the lower left side of the grille radiator. Standard equipment includes all equipment last year plus remote control outside the rearview mirror, heater and defroster and cornering headlights. Cadillac perfects the journey and tranquility, with more insulation on the floor and behind the firewall.
In 1963 Eldorado Biarritz joined Cadillac Sixty Special and Cadillac Series 75 as Cadillac's only model with Fleetwood body and soon acquired Fleetwood on the back and Fleetwood rocker panels. The 1963 Eldorado was also the first Fleetwood convertible since the Cadillac Series 75 stopped offering a four and two-door convertible body style and the production of the Cadillac Series 90 (V16) stopped in 1941. Overall the 1963 Cadillac was basically the same as the previous year. Exterior changes give the impression of more daring and longer. The veil cover and deck are redesigned. The front fender is projected at 4.625 inches more advanced than in 1962, while the tailfins are trimmed somewhat to give a lower profile. The sculptor beside the body is completely removed. The radiator grille is in the shape of a higher-V letter and now unites the outer extension that is swept under the flush-fender double headlamps. Smaller front parking lights are installed in the extension. Eldorado also has a rectangular rear grating pattern. A total of 143 options including bucket seats with wool, leather or nylon upholstery and wooden veneer cover on dashboards, doors and chair backs, set an all-time record for interior pickup options. The standard equipment is the same as the previous year. The engine is completely changed, although the displacement and output remain the same, 390 cuÃ, at (6,4Ã,)) and 325Ã, hp (242 kW).
It was time for another facelift in 1964 and really a small one. The main visual cue that Eldorado Biarritz shows is the lack of a fender skirt. The new front is a bi-angle grille that forms a V-shape along its vertical and horizontal plane. The main horizontal grille bar is now carried around the sides of the body. Extension panels of the outer grille again become a parking lot and cornering lights. It was 17 years in a row for Cadillac tailfins with a new-blade design that carries the tradition. Improved performance including the larger V8 engine is the dominant change to run the model. It features the same equipment as in 1963 for the most part. Comfort controls, fully automated heating and air conditioning systems controlled by the dial thermostat on the instrument panel, were introduced as the first industry. The engine hit 429 cuÃ, at (7Ã, l), with 340Ã, hp (253.5 kW) available. The performance gains from the new engines show the best in the lower range, at 20 to 50 mph (30 to 80 km/h) driving speed of traffic. The new technical feature is the Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, also used in De Ville and Sixty Special. Series 62, 75. and Commercial Chassis continued with the old Hydra-Matic until 1965.

The fifth generation (1965-1966)
Eldorado became a Fleetwood sub-series in 1965, although there is no definite separate Fleetwood series at this time. The result is marketed as Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado, in the same way as the Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 and Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special. Biarritz nomenclature was eventually derived from the sales literature, probably because there was no need to distinguish the convertible from Sevilla and Brougham who had been absent for a long time. This is the last generation equipped with rear-wheel drive.
The Eldorado was redesigned but was driving a 129.5 inch wheelbase (same 3,290 mm). The raised tail is lifted, with flat fins, and sharp and different body lines replacing the rounded look. Also new is the straight rear bumper and vertical cluster lights. The front lamp pair switches from horizontal to vertical, allowing for a wider grille. A curved side window with a curved frame appears with a tempered glass backlight. New standard features include lamps for luggage and drawers as well as front and rear seatbelts. Power is still supplied by 340 horsepower 429 cuÃ, at (7.030Ã, cc) V8. Perimeter frame construction allows repositioning of the six-inch engine forward in the frame, thereby lowering the transmission hump and increasing the interior space.
In 1966 the change included a rather coarse mesh to incorporate a grille radiator, which is now divided by thick, horizontal bars of bright metal bars housing rectangular parking lights at the outer ends. Separate rectangular marker light replaces integral grid extension design. In general there is a bit of chrome on all Cadillac models this year. Cadillac crests and V-shaped moldings, front and rear, are identifiers. Cadillac's "firsts" of the season include variable steering ratios and optional front seats with carbon fiber heater pads built inside cushions and backrest. Innovation comfort and comfort are headrests, backrest, and AM/FM stereo system. Automatic level controls are available. Improved techniques performed on the perimeter framework improve driving and facilitate handling. Newly designed pistons and oil rings and newly installed patented engine and exhaust systems are used.

The sixth generation (1967-1970)
The Eldorado was radically redesigned in 1967 to capitalize on the growing private luxury car market. Promoted as a "private" Cadillac, it shares E-body with the second generation Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado, which had been introduced the previous year. To enhance its uniqueness, Cadillac adopted the Toronado front-wheel drive Integrated Generator Package , adjusted to the standard Cadillac 429 V8 coupled to the Turbo-Hydramatic 425 automatic transmission. Based on the Turbo-Hydramatic 400, the THM425 puts the torque converter on the side planetary gearbox, which is driven through metal, a motor-style roller chain. The disc brakes are optional, and the new standard safety equipment includes an energy-absorbing steering column and a padded instrument panel. The Unified Powerplant package was then shared with GMC Motorhome starting in 1972.
The new Eldorado is a great departure from the previous generation, which has become little more than the version of the dressed Cadillac De Ville. The sharp style, initiated by GM's styling head Bill Mitchell, is distinctive and unique, sharper than the sleek Riviera and Toronado. This is the only production Cadillac to be equipped with a headlight hidden behind the operated vacuum door.
Performance is 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than nine seconds and a top speed of 120 mph (192 km/h). Roadability and handling are highly praised by contemporary reviews, and sales are great despite high listing prices. Sales of 17,930 units, almost three times that of the previous Eldorado, helped give the Cadillac the best year.
In 1968, the Eldorado received a new 375 hp (280 kW) Cadillac (SAE gross) 472 cu in (7.7 VL) V8, and the disc brakes became standard. Only a few exterior changes were made to comply with the new federal security laws. Sales hit another record at 24,528, with Eldorados accounting for nearly 11% of all Cadillacs sold.
In 1969 the hidden headlights were removed, and the vinyl halo roof was available as an option, merged later in the year model with the power of the sunroof.
In 1970 Eldorado introduced the new 500 V2 engine on the (8.2Ã, L) V8 engine, the largest ever V8 production, rated SAE gross 400Ã, hp (298 kW) and 550Ã, lb? Ft (746 N m), which will remain exclusive. until it became standard on all full-size Cadillacs on the 1975 model.

Seventh generation (1971-1978)
The 1971 Eldorado was substantially redesigned, growing two inches in length, six in the wheelbase and featuring the standard fender skirts, all of which gave the car a much heavier appearance than the previous year. The glass door remains frameless, and the hardtop rear window is removed, replaced by the "opera window" fixed in the expanding "C" pillar. A convertible model rejoined the line-up. This 126.3-inch (3.210 mm) wheelbase version of the Eldorado will run through 1978, received facelifts in 1973 and 1975. Sales in 1971 set a new record at 27,368.
In 1972 sales increased to 40,074.
Performance is not competitive with contemporary premium luxury cars.
In 1973, Eldorado was removed from the Fleetwood series and rebuilt as his own series. Model '73 receives a facelift, featuring egg grille, new front and rear bumper, decklid, rear fender and taillamps.
Cadillac Eldorado was chosen as the official driving car for the Indianapolis 500 in 1973. Cadillac produced 566 convertible cars of this special capacity. Thirty-three were used on track during the race week, with the remainder distributed to one US Cadillac dealer per dealer. Total sales jumped to 51,451, more than a sixth of all Cadillac sales.
1974 Eldorados features a redesigned rear bumper, to meet the new 5-mile federal design regulations. The styling changes include new horizontal taillamps, and fine mesh grille. Inside, there is a new redesigned instrument panel, which is marketed in the sales literature as "space age" and shared with all Cadillac 1974.
For 1975, the Eldorado was given rectangular headlamps, full rear wheel openings, sans fender skirts, and sharp lines that produced a much slimmer appearance, reminiscent of the 1967-70 model.
1976 was the last year for the Eldorado convertible and the car was promoted heavily by General Motors as the "last American convertible". Approximately 14,000 will be sold, many purchased as an investment. The last 200 were designated as "Bicentennial Edition" to commemorate the 200th anniversary of America. These cars are white with two red/blue stripes along the upper bodyside and inside, a memorial plaque mounted on the dashboard. When Cadillac reintroduced the Eldorado convertible for the 1984 model, some owners of the 1976 model felt they had been tricked and launched a failed class action lawsuit against General Motors. After receiving a major facelift the previous year, the 1976 Eldorado received only minor style changes, including a new grille and a revised taillamp lens.
For 1977, Eldorado received a new grille with a finer crosshatch pattern. New vertical taillamps are moved to the bumper-fender extension. New 'Eldorado' letters appear on the surface of the hood and new horizontal side marker lamps with the 'Eldorado' blocker replacing the 'Eldorado' script in the rear fender. The convertible was dropped (though the Custom Coach of Lima, Ohio converted the new Eldorados 1977 and 1978 into a convertible coach using the saved part of the previous model). 500 cu in. (8.2L) V8 of 1970-76 gave way to the new 425 cu at. (7L) V8 with 180 bhp (134 kW). For the first time in 1977 all GM E-body cars were front-wheel drive, because the Riviera had a two-year hiatus before joining them in 1979.
The new grille was the only major change for 1978. The Eldorado will be completely redesigned and downsized for 1979.
Eldorado Biarritz
Unlike Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and De Ville, both of which offer luxury luxury packages, Eldorado does not offer the same luxury options. This was fixed at the end of the 1976 model year with the package Biarritz . A unique trim feature of Biarritz, a name that has not been used since 1964 (though Eldorado Fleetwood was a body of 1963, but Fleetwood's tagging is only applied to all Eldorados produced from 1965 to 1972 year model), is a stainless steel roof covering the front passenger compartment for the 1979-1985 model year. This is a styling cue that reminds us of Eldorado Brougham's 1957/58. The back half of the roof is covered with a very soft top of vinyl landau with a large "opera" lamp. The interior features "pillows" -style, "tufted" velor or leather seats, with a blend of piping, along with a variety of other options available.
Paket pilihan 1978 Biarritz terdiri dari Eldorado Custom Biarritz ($ 1.865.00); w/Astroroof ($ 2,946.00); w/Sunroof ($ 2,746.00) dan Eldorado Custom Biarritz Klasik ($ 2,466.00); w/Astroroof ($ 3,547.00); w/Sunroof ($ 3,347.00).
For the 1978 Eldorado model year alone, the 2000 Eldorado Custom Biarritz Classic is produced in Two-Tone Arizona Beige/Demitasse Brown consisting of 1,499 without Astroroof or Sunroofs; 475 with Astroroofs; 25 with Sunroofs and one (1) produced with Power Sliding T-Top. Only nine of the latter are known to have been installed by the American Sunroof Company under the direction of General Motors' Cadillac Motor Car Division.
The Biarritz options resided with Eldorado through the 1991 model year. Some of the original styling cues disappeared after the 1985 model, such as stainless steel roofs and interior seating designs, but Biarritz remained unique the same.

The eighth generation (1979-1985)
Cadillac introduced Eldorado eighth generation in 1979, mostly as a rebadged variant of Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado. Smaller, more fuel-efficient 350 and 368 inÃ.ó (5.7 and 6.0 L) V8s replace 500 engines and 425 inÃ.ó (8.2 and 7.0 L). A diesel 350 is available as an option.
In 1980, 350 gas was replaced by 368 except in California, where Oldsmobile 350 was used. Both in 1980 Sevilla and Eldorado (who shared the frame) 368 came with DEFI (later known as throttle body injection when later used with other GM corporate machines), while in Cadillac the larger RWD came with only 4-barrel Quadrajet Carburetors. Independent rear suspension is adopted, helping to maintain the rear seat and luggage space in smaller body. The most striking touch of style is the extreme notchback roofline. The Eldorado Biarritz model uses a stainless steel roof concept similar to the first Brougham. Eldorado had a borderless glass door, and the rear quarter windows reappeared as before 1971, with no thick "B" pillars. The cars were not the real hardtop, because the rear quarter windows were fixed. Sales set a new record at 67.436.
For 1981, Cadillac offered a variable V8-6-4 variable displacement of 368 engines, designed to disable multiple cylinders when full power was not needed, helping to meet the average GM government fuel economy (CAFE). It was a reduced bore version of the 1968 model, 472, which shared the blow of the machine and also the 1977-1979 425 model. The machine itself is extremely rugged and durable, but its complex electronics are a source of customer complaints..
1981 is the first year of electronic "digital" instrumentation is an available option. In addition to standard digital electronic climate controls on all Eldorados, a standard analog speedometer and fuel gauge can be replaced with a digital display with gallon features of fuel residual and estimated range.
Another engine was introduced for 1982. The 4.1 L HT-4100 is an in-house design that mated the cast-iron head to an aluminum block. Some HT-4100 are replaced under warranty.
From 1982 to 1985, Cadillac offered the 'Eldorado Touring Coupe', with heavy duty suspension, alloy wheels, blackwall tires, minimal exterior ornaments and limited paint colors. It is marketed as a 'driver car' and includes a bucket seat and center console.
In 1984, Cadillac also introduced a convertible version of Eldorado Biarritz. That à £ 200 (91 kg) heavier interior displays the same as other versions of Biarritz. The 1985 model was the last year for ASC, Inc., convertible aftermarket Eldorado convertible. Total sales set an all-time record of 77,806, accounting for about 26% of all Cadillacs sold.
Prior to the official 1984 and 1985 Eldorado convertibles marketed by Cadillac, some 1979-83 Eldorados were made into coach converters by independent coachbuilders eg. American Sunroof Corporation, Custom Coach (Lima, Ohio - this coachbuilder converted some Eldorados in 1977 and 1978 into convertible), Hess & amp; Eisenhardt. The same bodybuilder also changed Oldsmobile Toronado and Buick Riviera into ragtop.
End of model year 1985, optional 'Warning Edition' package announced, to honor the final year of production for this Eldorado version. Exclusive features include gold-tone scripts and tail-light emblems, special display panel badges, gold center wheel center caps, and "Warning Edition" badges on the horns pads. Leather seats (available in Dark Blue or White, or two-tone with Dark Blue and White) are included in the package, along with the Dark Blue dashboard and rug. Exterior colors are Cotillion White or Commodore Blue.

The ninth generation (1986-1991)
Eldorado downsized again in 1986, losing about 16 "long and 350 pounds of weight but still a rebadged variant of Oldsmobile Toronado, Buick Riviera, as well as a four-door Eldorado companion, Cadillac Seville.Buick and Oldsmobile both use 3.6-liter V6 Buick, while Cadillac continue to use their exclusive 4.1 liter V8 Bodystyle convertible submitted to the Cadillac Alliance roadster. © Ninth generation Eldorado carries a base price of $ 24,251 which is approximately 14% higher than the 1985 model.
Despite its smaller exterior size, Eldorado's interior volume remains comparable to previous generation models and also Lincoln Mark VII. For the first time, Eldorado left a "hardtop" legacy and featured a framed glass door. The news report then indicated that GM had been misled by a consultant's prediction that gasoline would be $ 3 per gallon in the US in 1986, and that smaller luxury cars would be in demand. In fact, the price of gasoline is less than half. With a 60% sales decline, there are rarely models that experience a sharper downfall. Production is only about a quarter of what happened two years earlier.
In addition to the longer warranty, 5 years/50,000 miles, Eldorado received very little change for 1987. The drop in prices, to $ 23,740, did not increase sales, as only 17,775 were made this year (21,342 to 1986). Standard suspension, with higher 75 series tires (formerly 70) and hydraulic engine mounts, is re-gained for a softer ride while optional ($ 155) Tracing the Suspension , with disc-deflected buffer valve and 15 "wheels, fixed for those who want to ride stronger. As part of the federal requirements to prevent thieves" chop-shop ", the main body panels engraved with VIN.New new, a combination of cashmere fabric with leather upholstery, and locked belt buckles safety inertia for rear seat passengers, allowing the installation of a child seat in a rear seats position behind the official roof cabriolet roof added this year. Available for $ 495 at the Eldorado base, it features a padded cover over the back half of the roof, and turns the side glass rear a smaller opera window One of the oldest singluar options in Eldorado is a Motorola phone fitted inside the armrest locking center. Price $ 2,850, already reworked. is the year for easier operation, and features a hidden microphone mounted between sun visors for hands-free operation. In addition, the phone displays a smart radio mute control: activated when the phone and radio are used at the same time, it automatically lowers the speaker's audio volume behind, and over-rode the front music speakers to be used for hands-free phones. On an interesting note, the rectangular marker lights, located on the bumper extension of the molding just behind the rear wheels well in 1986 and the '87 Eldorado model, will suddenly reappear in 1990 & amp; '91 Sevilla (only basic model) and Eldorado Touring CoupÃÆ'à ©.
Cadillac facelifted Eldorado for 1988, and sales almost doubled from the previous year, to 33,210. The distance of wheelbase, door, roof, and glass is relatively unchanged and body panels are revised. Now available in 17 exterior colors (formerly 19), the Eldorado is 3 "longer than the previous year.Under the hood is a new 155 hp V8 4.5 liter Cadillac. The comprehensive anti-lock braking system, developed by Teves , newly available Longer front fenders have a "bladed" tip, and a new grille on top of a revamped front bumper.Happened, the new three-sided tail lights - reminiscent of the 1987 Deville - show up with a new bumper and trunk lid. "the aluminum wheels remain standard, while the optional" snowflake-pattern "alloy wheels are included with the Touring Suspension option. On the inside hold back the wider headrests and the swing-away pull handle (replace the door pull rope before) The new seat pattern, along with a belt for passengers behind the rear seats, appears for the basic model and Biarritz , with the latter bringing back the tufted-button design visible in 1985 Eldorado Biarritz A new vinyl roof of choice, covering the full roof, displaying body color tape over side doors and windows - similar to the style used until 1978. This replaces the "cabriolet roof" option, which covers the back of the roof, introduces just the year before. With the Biarritz option package, a layered vinyl roof only covers the back of the top of the roof, behind the rear side windows. Biarritz also includes slim vertical opera lamps, such as in 1986 and '87, but now added spear prints (similar to the force used in 1976 - 1985 Eldorado Biarritz) that ran from the base of the roof, continuing horizontally along the door, and to the end front fenders. The standard power antenna is removed from the front passenger fender to the rear passenger fender. Prices rose this year - to $ 24,891. This 1988 Restyle will be the last, until the model was replaced by the all-new Eldorado for 1992.
With major changes to Eldorado just a year earlier, 1989 saw little new things. The optional automatic rearview mirror switches from electrically operated mechanical mechanisms to new electrochromic forces, using clear fluids filled between mirrors and thin glass sheets, which are colored after activation. A new exterior color, White Diamond, carries a choice of colors up to 18. Lost is a 14-inch wheel, as an optional optional "inch snow" optional aluminum wheel, introduced last year, made standard for the Eldorado base. Compact disc players, only available with the Delco Bose Gold Series music system, are new choices this year, such as reversed flooring, and gold-plated ornaments ("Cadillac" grille and bar scripts, sailing panel ornaments, plaque deck coverings, luggage locks, rear lights emblems, wheel covers and wheel cover hooks available). New standard items include express-down modules for driver's windows, electronics oil usage indicators, stronger Delco Freedom II batteries, revised factory warranty, and PASS GM (Passive Automotive Security System) KEY thieving system, activated material system burn based on pellet encoded in ignition key. The previous optional items that are now added as standard equipment include a cassette player with a graphic equalizer, long-distance charger door release, and front-plate mounting. In an effort to use existing warehouse stocks, the lower chrome bodyside accent mold, optionally up to last year, was added as standard equipment for 1989 (a revamped mold would appear in 1990). New high-gloss Birdseye Maple trim (replacing Walnut American satin-finished used from 1986 to 1988) in standard instrument and console panels at Eldorado Biarritz, and available (for $ 245) at Eldorado headquarters. An optional cabriolet roof, which creates a convertible peak view, is offered this year in limited color. The price rose again, now at $ 26,738. Production fell slightly, down to 27,807 (including 7,174 Biarritz models). The sales decline was in part due to competition from Buick Riviera's own GM, which grew 11 "this year in dramatic lifestyles, and increased production from 8,625 units in 1988 to 21,189 in 1989.
In addition to the Touring Coupe new-for-1990 model (see entry below) which was introduced later in the model year, it was an increase year for Eldorado. The driver side airbag was introduced as standard equipment, but as a result, the telescoping steering column was not continued (although the tilt feature remained). The yacht control buttons were installed in the center of the wheel before, but with the airbags (mounted on the smaller diameter steering wheel), they were now moved to the seam lampstand. The new multi-point fuel injection replaced the throttle-body style from last year, and horsepower jumped from 155 to 180, although the new system required the use of premium fuel. The new aluminum cast wheel design (not available with the Lower Suspension package) is optional for customers who want something different from the standard "snowflake" wheels at the Eldorado base. Seating received many improvements, including newly printed trim panels, additional lateral and lumbar support, French lining, and revised front headrest. Full leather seats (previously leather and fabric) are now standard on the Biarritz model, but the basic model loses the back seat rear pocket. The mobile phone disappeared from the list of options, and the vinyl center's armrest was changed. Electronic climate controls receive updates in the form of three automatic settings and two manuals. An optional leather seats package on the base model now includes electric passenger seat seats. The "Eldorado Options Package" last year (which includes new-style carpeted floor rugs, body edge door guards, lighted drivers and passenger visor mirrors, luggage compartment latches and illuminated entry systems) are now standard. In addition, the previous optional items added as standard equipment this year include a rear window defosser with heated outdoor mirrors, and bodyside accent strips. New options for 1990 include a central lock feature (from outside door locks using locks) added to automatic door locks. A revised deck-lid plaque now mentions port fuel injection, and the deck lid itself holds a chrome handle above the opening of the license plate. Also, the rear safety reflector moves from the bumper to the panel below the decklid this year. The new chrome-colored vinyl strip is accented with bumper chrome and bodyside moldings this year, while the front bumper guard changes from body color to charcoal. In the front suspension, the stabilizer shaft is revised for ride and handling, while the tire jack located in the trunk has a new carpeted storage container. The price for 1990 was $ 28,885, with an additional Biarritz model of $ 3,180. Production fell to 20,874 units, about 1/3 of which was the model Biarritz . An additional 1,507 Eldorado Touring Coupe model was created.
1991, the final year for this body style, is also the first year for the new 4.9-liter Cadillac V-8 engine with port fuel injection, in collaboration with the electronically controlled 4 speed 4T60-E GM transmission. Cadillac differentiates GM transmissions from other corporate models that are shared by the exclusive Cadillac-exclusive speakercope loudspeaker, which provides smoother displacement under harsh acceleration. Engine controls are monitored by GMP4 Powertrain Control Module (PCM), 64-kilobyte on-board computer. The new exhaust arrangement with wider catalytic converter reduced the restriction by 38% from last year, while the 0-60 mph speed went from 9 seconds in 1990 to 8.2 for '91. The revised engine holder prevents engine noise and vibration from affecting the cab, while the new Computer Command Ride (CCR) system, optionally on most other Cadillac models, is standard on Eldorado. CCR will automatically adjust suspension mode with respect to vehicle speed for better handling and ride comfort. A $ 309 heated electric glass is new to this year's selection list, as available ($ 480 at Eldorado's headquarters, no charge for Biarritz or Touring Coupe) The "Security Package" now includes a remote keyless entry along with a door lock automatic with a central lock, and a deterrent-theft system. Bosch II anti-lock braking system, previously $ 925 option, was made standard this year, as well as a stronger 140-amp alternator. A revised glass washer revised for 1991. The base price was $ 31,245, almost $ 2,400 from 1990, but the jump was not so dramatic when considering a new powertrain and sophisticated suspension system, and that anti-lock brakes are now standard. equipment, and other optional items that are now available without charge. In an effort to deplete parts inventory - and to make Eldorado appear to be a better value in the last year of current style production, some optional items are available at no cost on the Eldorado base, including full vinyl roof cover options or full-cabriolet roof (convertible- look) (option $ 1,095), leather seats with passenger seats, and Delco-Bose sound system - with a choice of CDs or cassettes. In addition, the $ 2-50 Touring Coupe and $ 3,180 Biarritz packages include a power moon and Delco-BOSE stereo at no additional cost. This will be the last year for Eldorado Biarritz . Production dropped to just 16,212 (including 2,249 Touring Coupe models), the lowest output seen since 1966.

Tenth Generation (1992-2002)
The Eldorado 1992 is all new, drawing both interior and exterior styling cues from the 1988 Cadillac Solitaire show car. It's significantly larger than its predecessor - about 11 "longer, 3" wider, and substantially heavier. Window shutters are once again frameless, and shortly after the introduction of the new Cadillac Northstar V8 became available in both 270 and 295 hp (220 kW) variants, replacing the previous generation of 200 hp (150 kW) 4.9 L L26. Sales increased, though never again reached record highs.
Eldorado continued for the rest of the decade with gradual changes and tapered sales. Passenger side airbags were added as standard equipment in 1993. Styling was refreshed in 1995, with updated front and rear bumpers, side cladding, and new grille. In 1996, the interior gained attention, with new coating styles, larger analog gauges, relocated climate control systems, updated stereo faces, and standard daytime running lights. The ETC receives a rain-absorbing wiper called "Rainsense."
In 1997, the Integrated Chassis Control System was added. It involves the integration of machine microprocessors, traction control, stabilization of electronic stability control, steering, and adaptive continuous variable sensing paths (CVRSS), with the intention of improving response to driver input, performance, and overall security. It's similar to Toyota/Lexus Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM).
After sales declined, reports circulated that Eldorado would get a redesign for 1999 - similar to that experienced by Sevilla in 1998 - would prove to be false because the car was sold in a way largely unchanged into the new millennium, although it did get some improvement from Sevilla 1999.
The car was sold under Cadillac ETC (Eldorado Touring Coupe) and ESC (Eldorado Sport Coupe) trim.
In 2001 GM announced that the 50th year of Eldorado (2002) model would be the last. To mark the end of the nameplate, the limited production of 1,596 red or white cars - colors available at the 1953 convertible - was produced in three sets of 532, signaling the first year of Eldorado production. These latest cars feature special exhaust tunes set to mimic their pioneers from half a century earlier, and a plaque mounted on the dash shows every sequence of cars in production.
Production ended on April 22, 2002, with the Lansing Craft Center being retooled to build the Chevrolet SSR.
