Based on the Yamaha Virago 535 engine, the XVS650 (named V Star in USA) cylinders bore an additional 5 mm to 81 mm and stuck 4 mm over to 63 mm, into the 649 cc net transfer. XVS650 comes in two models: Custom with lower seat height of 695 mm (27.4 inches) and slightly less heavily, and Classic with high seat height of 708 mm (27.9 inches). Custom is about 232 kg (511 lbs) and Classic is about 15 kg heavier 247 kg (545 lbs).
Yamaha XVS650 is sold in the US as an entry-level version of the V-Star line. The line was offered from 1998 to 2008 in two different versions: Classic and Silverado. Both versions are built around the same 649Ã vÃ-twin engine, cc. The V-Star line offers the visual appeal of larger v-twin motors paired with fuel efficiency, reliability, and fast handling of medium-sized cruisers.

V-star
The V-Star 650 (and even 1100) motor is present in three trims:
- V-Star Custom (650) XVS650 - Basic version for long range roaming. V-Star Classic (650) XVS650A - The same frame as the Custom V-star but with a wider front wheel, metal fender, longer bodywork, less chrome styling, drag handlebars, wider chairs and more many styling differences.
- V-Star Silverado (650) - Same as V-Star Classic with saddlebag and some other tour additions
- Some V-Star motorcycles come in what others know as purple purple (Raven) with fire. There are 2 editions made this. The XVS65T-F and XVS65TC-F (CA edition). The CA edition is for California Only and is equipped with tubes to prevent the use of fuel vapor into the atmosphere. There are 3 lines to this tube. One to the fuel tank, one to the carburetor and the ventilation hose. Both of these models when VIN decoded will appear both XVS650 and XVS650A mostly because their parts are identical to these 2 models with very few exceptions if any.
These are all basic versions of RoadStar. RoadStar and RoyalStar generally refers to a bike class created and tailored for tour performance
