Justin James Watt (born March 22, 1989) is the ultimate American football defense for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He was composed by Texas by selecting 11 in the first round of NFL Draft 2011, and playing college football in Wisconsin.
Watt received the NFL Defensive AP Player of the Year Award three times in his first five seasons. Although it is basically a defense, it sometimes shifts to defensive tactics in some situations. He also took snapshots for offense, capturing three goals through during the 2014 season. In 2014, Watt became the first player in NFL history to record two seasons of 20 sacks in his career. He holds a Texas franchise record for both sacks and forces him to grope. In 2017, Sports Illustrated was named Watt Sportsperson of the Year.

Early life and high school
Watt was born on March 22, 1989, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Connie's parents, a vice-president of the building, and John Watt, a firefighter. The younger J.J younger siblings are in the NFL as well - Derek Watt is a defender for Los Angeles Fans, and T. J. Watt plays linebackers for Pittsburgh Steelers. Watt played hockey from the age of four to the age of 13 and played for a travel team that traveled to Canada and Germany. He unleashed hockey when the weekly game started to run counter to his schedule and for financial reasons. Watt also played football throughout his childhood and became passionate about sports when he was in fifth grade.
Watt attended Pewaukee High School, where he was a four-year letter winner in football and also wrote in basketball, baseball, and track and field. During his senior year, he was selected for the first team All-State. He earned his senior year's Woodland of the Year Award Conference Player, and the All-State first team, All-County, All-Area, and All-Conference options as a final and final defensive end. He is also named MVP team. During his senior year, Watt garnered a total of 399 received yard, 26 catches, and 5 touchdowns.
Watt followed his father's footsteps and competed in shots made during his senior season, producing the first selection of the All-state team. He claimed the state title in a shot entered in the 2007 WIAA Division II Championship, setting a new school record with a throw of 59 feet, 11.5 inches (18.28 meters).

Considered a two-star recruit by both Rivals.com and Scout.com, Watt was ranked among the tight tops and among the top defensive prospects in his class. After an official visit to Central Michigan, Colorado, and Minnesota, Watt chose to play for Central Michigan under coach Butch Jones.

Central Michigan
Watt received a scholarship offer from Central Michigan University and was accepted there. Watt has stated that he was led to believe by Butch Jones that, as a tight end, he will have a chance to score. In Central Michigan, he played 14 games, collecting 77 yards and receiving eight receptions. Watt's coach, led by Butch Jones, suggested that he move to an offensive attack, but Watt decided to forget his starting point and a scholarship to run at the University of Wisconsin, where he plays as a defensive end.
Wisconsin
At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Watt was redshirted for the 2008 season and was named the Players of the Wisconsin Olympic Team of the Year. In 2009, he played in 13 matches as a defensive end. In a game against Hawaii on December 5, 2009, Watt had a career high of two sacks for nine yards, three tackles for loss, six tackles, and one quarterback rush. Watt finished the season with 32 single tackles, 12 assists tackles, four half sacks, 15.5 tackles for loss, and five defensive passes. He also received his first letter. On November 20, 2010, against Michigan, he recorded his first college interception. Overall, in the 2010 season, Watt played in 13 matches and led the team in handling losses, quarterback rush, kicks blocked, and forced groping. He finished the season with 42 single tackles, 20 assisted tackles, 21 tackles for loss, seven sacks, one interception for 15 yards, nine surviving passes, and three forged groping. He grabbed the Ronnie Lott Trophy in 2010, picked AP and Sports Illustrated second All-American team, All-Big Ten first team, All-Big Ten academics, and was selected as MVP team.

Professional career
Watt missed his senior season, entering the NFL Draft 2011. At NFL Combine 2011, Watt is the best player in all of the combined categories except a 40-yard dash. On April 28, 2011, he was selected in the first round by Houston Texans by selecting overall 11. He is the second selected defender, just behind Aldon Smith, who is seventh overall. The Texans signed Watt with a four-year contract, $ 11.24 million on July 31, 2011.
2011 season
In the 2011 season, Watt started all 16 games. In the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts, he has five tackles and a missed recovery in his NFL debut. On November 27, against Jacksonville Jaguars, he had his first multi-sack game with 2.0 in a 20-13 win. He finished the season with 48 single tackles, eight assisted assists, and five and a half sacks. The Texans qualify for the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. In the playoffs, Watt recorded 11 solo tackles, three assists tackles, one interception back for touchdown, one defended pass, and four sacks in two games against Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens. season 2012
In 2012, Watt has one of the best seasons for defenders in NFL history. Watt finished the season with 69 single tackles, 12 assisted tackling, 20.5 sacks, 16 passes maintained, four forced groping, and two misses. Watt was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month in September and December. On November 22, 2012, in a game against the Detroit Lions, Watt recorded three sacks, to give him a total of 14.5, breaking the record of Texas players in a season, previously held by Mario Williams. On December 16, against the Indianapolis Colts, he recorded three sacks and ten tackles total in a 29-17 victory. The Texas made another playoff in 2012, and Watt recorded six single tackles, three assists tackles, two defending operands, two sacks in two games. Watt finished the season 2.5 sacks of shame from Michael Strahan's single-season sack record set in 2001. Watt is named after the NFL Pro-Bowl Team 2013 on 26 December 2012. Watt is also named the Most Valuable Soccer Team in Texas USA Football Team Fundamentals, PFW First-Team All-Pro, Weekly Pro Football/Most Valuable Players PFWA, Defensive Players NFL 101 AFC This Year, AP First-Team All-Pro, and Best Defensive Player AP This Year. Watt received 49 of 50 votes for Defensive Player of the Year award. He was the first Texas player to receive the NFL Player of the Year award. Watt is the 17th defensive midfielder and only the eighth defensive end to receive the award since 1971. Watt also made his highest debut on the NFL Network's Top 100 Player list for 2012, coming in at number five.
2013 season
Watt has a strong season, but the Texans are fighting as a whole, in the 2013 season. In Week 2, against Tennessee Titans, he has his first two sacks this season with a 30-24 victory. From Sunday 7-12, he recorded at least one sack in every game. Overall, in the 2013 season, Watt recorded 65 solo tackles, 15 assisted tackles, seven defending operands, 10.5 sacks, four forced groping, and two failed recovery. The Texas, however, had a losing season and finished with a 2-14 record. Watt named for 2014 NFL Pro Bowl and is Captain Pro Bowl.
season 2014
Prior to the start of the 2014 season, the Texans and Wattans approved a six-year, $ 100 million contract extension. Watt receives $ 30.9 million when signing and he will receive $ 21 million at the start of the 2016 season if he is on the list. In a match against the Indianapolis Colts, on October 9, 2014, Watt forced Colts quarterback Andrew Luck to fumble into the ball. Watt restored the ball and returned 45 yards to the touchdown.
For his fourth goal of the season, Watt caught a two-yard touchdown pass from Texan midfielder Ryan Mallett to pass Mallett's first career touchdown. Watt recorded 4 solo tackles, one assist tackle, one sack, one was forced to miss, and the recovery missed in the same game, on November 16, 2014, against Cleveland Browns.
Watt scored his fifth goal on 30 November 2014, catching a yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick, the texas midfielder. With this acceptance, Watt became the first defensive midfielder to score at least five goals in a season since 1944.
On December 21st, Watt recorded his 54th sack as a Texas in a 25-13 victory against the Baltimore Ravens. With the sack, he surpassed Mario Williams as the franchise leader in the sack. On December 28, 2014, Watt had a sack for his first career safety against Jacksonville Jaguars who gave him three sacks on that day and 20.5 this season, becoming the first player in NFL history to have 20 sacks or more in a separate season. Watt also finished this season with 5 times high career independence and 5 goals.
For a remarkable season, Watt was unanimously named Team All-Pro 2014 as a defensive end and was named for the second All-Pro team as a defensive watch. Watt is also named Pro Bowl 2015 where Cris Carter, team captain of Team Carter, chose Watt to be his captain in defense. During the match, Watt recorded a missed recovery and interception and after the game was named Defensive MVP. He also won the Defensive Player of the Year, one of several to win the award several times, and became the first defensive player since 2008 to earn votes for the MVP award, receiving 13. After the season, Watt was named to the top spot in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2015.
season 2015
Despite struggling against a groin injury and a fractured left hand, Watt started all 16 games in 2015 making 76 tackles, leading NFL-17.5 sacks, 8 passes maintained, 3 forcing groping, and slipping recovery. In the regular season finals, against Jacksonville Jaguars, he has three high sack seasons to go along with eight tackles in total. He was appointed to the 2015 Pro Bowl, which was his fourth consecutive appearance, and also received a third player Defensive Player of the Year, the only player other than Lawrence Taylor to do so. With Texans finishing the 9-7 season, the team clinched the South AFC division title but was closed 30-0 by the Kansas City Chief in the Wild Card round. On January 12, 2016, Watt underwent a groin operation for a sports hernia. This forces Watt to withdraw from Pro Bowl 2016. This is his fourth straight Pro Bowl award to go with his fourth team, All-Pro. He was ranked as the top defensive midfielder and the third best player in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2016.
season 2016
On July 21, 2016, Watt underwent a back surgery for a herniated disk. He started the training camp on the PUP list, but returned on Sunday 1 to start the season with a win over the Chicago Bears. In Week 2, he has 1.5 sacks and five tackles total against Kansas City Chief. On September 22, in a game against the New England Patriots, he recorded two attacks assisted in the final action of the season. On September 28, 2016, he was placed at the site of the injury. The next day, he underwent surgery again, and was officially ruled out for the rest of the 2016 season after playing three games and recording 1.5 sacks. Although Watt only played in three games, he was ranked 35th in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017.
2017 seasons
Watt returned from injury to play in the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. During the 5th Sunday against Kansas City's Chief on Sunday Night Football, Watt left the game after a clear leg injury. He later revealed that he suffered a tibial fracture of the plateau on his left leg. He underwent surgery the next day and ruled out the rest of the season. In just 5 matches, Watt finished with 11 tackles and 2 passes defense.
The 2017 season will be marked by Watt raising more than $ 37 million for relief and recovery efforts for the Houston area. The entire amount is raised through an online drive after donating $ 100,000 of his own money as a starting base. Watt commented that this season "is always more than just football." Watt was named Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year for 2017 for his humanitarian efforts. Watt named Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.

Personal life
Watt played ice hockey from the age of three until he was thirteen, traveling as far as Canada and Germany for the tournament. Watt said that he played "mainly as a center and a goalscorer." Due to the financial costs of sports and making a choice between hockey and football, Watt stopped playing hockey to focus on football. Watt has joked that he "may or may not" use skating as part of his offseason training.
While a graduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Watt sent a pizza to Pewaukee Pizza Hut.
On July 22, 2015, Watt was named Vice President of Power Relations for Reliant. Reliant is a retail electric provider in Texas, also a subsidiary of NRG Energy Inc.
On February 15, 2018, Baylor College of Medicine announced that Watt would receive honorary degrees from their medical school.
He is the older brother of Los Angeles Chargers fullback Derek Watt and Pittsburgh Steelers midfielder T. J. Watt.
He's in a relationship with Kealia Ohai.
Charity work
Watt is president and founder of Justin J. Watt Foundation, a charity organization that provides after-school opportunities for children in various communities, to get them involved in athletic sports in a safe environment. The foundation's motto, "Dream Big, Work Hard" is sold in wrist bands and T-shirts. Since the foundation was launched in 2010, Watt has raised more than $ 1 million. While most schools benefited from fundraising in Texas and Wisconsin, schools in Alabama, Illinois, and California also received donations. Mrs. Watt, Connie, is the organization's vice president. Watt and J.J. Watt Foundation organizes Charity Classic, Run/Walk, Golf Outing, and Tailgate every year. The Charity Classic is a softball game held at Constellation Field, in Sugar Land, Texas, where Texans participate in the game, and Home Run Derby to raise money for the foundation. Classic Charity Game premiered in 2013, and 2014 Charity Classic collected over $ 436,433 for its foundation. On August 26, 2014, Watt received the Texas Bull Spirit Community Award. Watt is also known for his interaction with children. On July 2, 2011, Berry's family was on their way home from a vacation in Colorado Springs.
