Inventor Alfred KÃÆ'¤rcher (1901-59) of Baden-WÃÆ'¼rttemberg founded the company in 1935 in Stuttgart Bad-Cannstatt. Originally KÃÆ'¤rcher specialized in the design of industrial submersible heating elements, ie in a salt smelter heated with immersion heater.
